The LA Art Show, now in it’s 18th year, will kick off with a high-profile Opening Night Premiere Party on Wednesday, January 23 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Hosted by The Art of Elysium supporters Ali Larter and Hayes MacArthur, 100% of proceeds from the Opening Night Premiere Party will help The Art of Elysium to expand its program to bring arts to medically fragile children and increase the number of school children who visit the Getty through The J. Paul Getty Museum through its program for Title One School visits.

More than 5,000 VIPS attended the last year’s opening which attracted numerous celebrities, including: James Franco, David Arquette, Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Weird Al Yankovic, Rose McGowan, Mena Suvari, Angus T. Jones (Two and a Half Men), C.S. Lee (Dexter), Brandon Boyd (Incubus), Brandi Glanville (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills), Jim O'Heir (Parks & Recreation), Josiah Rea, Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy), Kristi Lauren (I Hate My Teenage Daughter), Laurie Holden (The Walking Dead), Lisa Edelstein (House), Megyn Price (Rules of Engagement), MOBY (Musician), Omar Miller (CSI: Miami), Penny Davidi (The Next Food Network Star), Peter Mark Richman (Beverly Hills 90210), Raphael Sharge (Once Upon a Time), Raven-Symone (That’s So Raven), Richard Chamberlin, Sam Trammell (True Blood), Taylor Treadwell (Knight and Day) and Cheech Marin.

All proceeds from the 2013 Opening Night Premiere Party ticket sales will be donated to The Art of Elysium, a non-profit organization dedicated to building bridges between the professional arts community, and children whose lives are constrained by illness.
Their “full-circle” mission provides career support services for emerging fine and performing artists, and in turn, engages those artists in volunteering their talents with our free arts outreach programs in pediatric hospitals and medical facilities. The Elysium Full Circle encompasses four arts platforms including Elysium Collections (Fashion Design), Elysium Project (Fine Arts), Elysium Sessions (Music), and Elysium Industry (Theatre/Media Arts).

Proceeds generated from Opening Night Premiere Party ticket sales will also support visits for students from Los Angeles area schools to the J.Paul Getty Museum, through the Museum’s fully subsidized Title One bus transportation program. This program ensures that as many students as possible from throughout Los Angeles can visit the Getty and experience its collection and the site through guided visits and architecture and garden tours. Each year, more than 100,000 students and their teachers visit the J. Paul Getty Museum at its two locations, giving young people the opportunity to enjoy direct experiences with original works of art.

More than 50,000 visitors attended last year’s LA Art Show, which was described by NBC, Los Angeles as an art fair that “brims with top-level talent” including: Damien Hirst, David Bailey, Jordi Alcaraz, Karel Appel, Norman Bluhm, Hans Burkhardt, George Condo, Clarie Falkenstein, Patrick Graham, George Herms, Pablo Picasso, Ruth Weisberg, Jerome Witkin, Francisco Zuniga, Jamie Reid, Ed Ruscha, Armando Romero, David Hockney, Roy Lichtenstein, Arshile Gorky, Jim Dine, Andy Warhol, Fernando Botero, Pissaro and others. Newly acquired by the Palm Beach Show Group (PBSG), the 2013 event will feature expanded programming, including lectures, tours, special exhibits, and must-attend after parties
