This contemporary Brentwood Park home bears the respected signature of the renowned architecture firm of Buff and Hensman, celebrated for its bold design and simplicity of line. Its dramatic approach, flanked by Black River birches, features a limestone spline that runs from the driveway over a dry river bed, through the entire length of the home ending at the lap pool. Ed Benavente's Walking Man in Repose rests in the garden. In the stunning high ceiling interior, softened in subtle taupes, works of art by Alison Saar, John McLaughlin, Peter Shelton, John Baldessari, John Okulick and Joe Goode echo the home's bright, airy, modern voice. High notes are the eclectic collections of prized textile, artifacts and folk art the homeowners gathered along with priceless memories during wanderings in Africa, India, and Southeast Asia.

Still Robot is a 1,000 square-foot case study introducing the OCTA.BOT system, which is comprised of eight swivel joints intended to be customizable for dwelling applications at various scales and configurations. Alexis Rochas is the founder of I/O, a Los Angeles practice focusing on Open Source architectural methodologies and systems through the development of dynamic technologies and implementation processes.

Edgar Arceneaux will present the Watts House Project (WHP), an ongoing collaborative artwork in the shape of a neighborhood redevelopment. Located within a residential neighborhood on E. 107th Street and centered around the historic Watts Towers, the WHP engages art and architecture as a catalyst for expanding and enhancing community. Featured in the 2010 issue of ID Magazine's Top 40 Design Projects in the World in 2009, Arceneaux, Director of the WHP, will give an intimate walkthrough of this dynamic project.
