Opening Night Gala
A star-studded affair of 150 gallery openings in one space on one night. Proceeds from the 2010 Opening Night Preview on January 20th, 2010 will benefit the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and Inner City Arts (additional benefit organizations to be announced). Support the community and enjoy a magical evening of live music, food, wine, and amazing artwork.
Symposia Series
An engaging range of art discussions featuring leading voices from today’s art world: collectors, curators, artists, writers, and a cast of prominent art professionals presented on a scintillating mix of current, up-to-date, topics.
Art Displays and Installations
The imagination knows no bounds–participating gallery artists and organizations bring the adjoining corridors of the LA Convention Center to life. 2009 special exhibit spaces included a sculpture garden and video display, an exploration of art installations, as well as the acclaimed MFA show, Supersonic (their first year with the Los Angeles Art Show).
Museums and Non-Profit Participation
Los Angeles’ arts institutions provide a basis for our city’s flourishing artistic output and for our standing as an artistic Mecca. The Los Angeles Art Show invites a range of organizations to present their programming and exhibition designs to this larger forum for the arts.
Music Series
Exploring art forms across genres, previous Los Angeles Art Show music offerings have traversed melodies from Mozart, to Latin Beats, Reggae and Rock—a colorful ensemble for the ears and eyes.
Film Series
2009 welcomed the First Annual Films on Arts Series. Held in conjunction with the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences and the USC School of Cinematic Arts, the series viewed eight documentary films focusing on artists and the fine arts, many whose work appeared in the Los Angeles Art Show.
