3:00pm – CAAM x The Underground Museum x Art + Practice: Accessibility Leads to Visibility
Location: Dialogs Booth
Dialog: When Art + Practice, California African American Museum and The Underground Museum opened their doors in Los Angeles, they were conceived of as spaces for exhibitions, events, dialogue, and artist collaborations dedicated to ensuring access to contemporary art and ideas for all of the cities residents. More importantly, these spaces aim to promote cutting-edge African-American art, but inclusiveness is also part of its mission. Now with the Crenshaw/LAX metro line opening in a few years, each institution is poised to increase visibility and access to artists, galleries,and institutions in historically black neighborhoods.
